Tournament Rules (Little League Rules will apply if not covered below) 

1. Open to all players born after August 31, 2013.

2.     Batting order will include all players present/on roster. In event of an injury, batter will be removed from order. No out will be recorded.  

3.     Bats: USA Certified Bats Only. Must have USA Baseball stamp.

4.     Coin Flip will determine home team in all games.

5.     Games will be 6 innings in length, with a time limit of 1 hour 30 minutes. No new inning will start after 1 hour 30 minutes, but home team will be allowed to bat if needed in bottom of inning that started prior to time limit. If game is tied at end of the 6th inning or when the time limit has been reached, play will continue with each extra inning starting with the last recorded out from the prior inning starting at 2nd base with 1 out, until a winner is determined. If pool play format is used for tournament, pool games can end in a tie.

6.     10 run rule in effect after 4 innings are complete. (3 ½ innings if home team is ahead by 10 runs or more after visiting team has batted in the 4th inning)

7.     Batter cannot advance on dropped 3rd Strike

8.     Infield Fly rule is in effect.

9.     The fake-bunt swing is NOT allowed. Batter will be called out and the ball will be declared dead.

10.  Sliding: Runners must slide on all close plays. Runner may be called out at umpire discretion if failure to slide causes unsafe play. Runner will be called out on all Head First slides. Runner can slide head first back into a base.

11.  Runners are allowed to take a lead once the pitch crosses home plate.   

12.  Umpire decisions are final. PERIOD! – no protests are allowed

13.  Pitching Rules: 3 innings per game, 1 pitch constitutes an inning pitched. 6 innings total for the tournament. Fastballs and Straight Change-Up’s only. All other pitches will be recorded as a ball at umpires discretion. Umpire’s decision is final.  

14.  Coaches are responsible for appropriate player, fan, and coach behavior. Good sportsmanship is expected at all times.

2.     Head-to-Head among all tied teams.

3.     Fewest Runs Allowed

4.     Fewest Runs Allowed in a single game

Tournament Rules (WIAA Rules with the following exceptions) 

  1. Open to all players born after May 1, 2009.
  2. Prior to the start of each game, teams can choose one of the following three batting order options:  1) 9 players, 2) 10 players (all position players with an EH) or 3) entire roster.  
  3. Bats: Max weight differential is -5. Bats can have USSSA, USA or BBCOR certification.
  4. Home team is determined by a coin flip before each game with the team furthest from Rice Lake calling the flip.
  5. Free substitution is allowed, except for the pitcher, in the field. Once a pitcher has been removed from the mound, they will not be allowed to pitch for the remainder of the game.
  6. Pitchers may not pitch more than 3 innings in a game or 8 innings for the tournament. One pitch constitutes an inning.  Coaches must keep innings pitched for each player in their scorebook. 
  7. Courtesy runner only for the catcher and only with 2 outs. A courtesy runner is the player who made the last out. If a courtesy runner is used, then the catcher must play the catcher position the following inning.
  8. Games are 7 innings. 10 run rule after 4 innings, 15 after 3 innings. 1 hour and 45 minute time limit. We will have a STRICT 1 hour and 45 minute time limit. Absolutely no new inning after the time limit. Umpire should announce the last inning if due to the time limit.  Please be ready to play at your assigned times in order to accommodate our schedules. 
  9. There will not be a time limit in the Championship game.  10 run rule will be used.
  10. Coaches are responsible for maintaining players, coaches and fan discipline. 
  11. Umpire decisions are final. There are NO PROTESTS. 
  12. Balks will be enforced. One warning per team/game. 
  13. No Slash Bunting. A batter squaring up must either lay down a bunt or take the pitch. 
  14. On a close play the runner must slide. Violation of this can result in the runner being called out at the umpire's discretion. Umpire’s decision is final. 
  15. In the event of a tie after 7 innings or expired time limit, International rules will be followed. Last out from the previous inning will be placed on second base and the inning will begin with one out.
